Teacher Tips for Field Trips:
Arrival/Start Time
:
Your group should plan to arrive around 10-15 minutes before your scheduled time. Someone will direct you to your hay circle. It is important that the kids go the this area first so we can do our Pumpkin Talk and give them some guidelines about their visit.
Please call 831-234-9354 if you are running late or lost! We can combine 2 classes at a time if needed. We stagger schools for safety and to keep it fun for everyone so please try to be on time. Thank you!
Parents
:
We welcome parents and encourage them to attend with their child.
Teachers Paying for Your School’s Field Trip
:
The cost is $5 per child which includes: stations, a pumpkin, and corn maze. We do not require advance payment or deposit from schools - although a reservation is required. Please pay for your field trip the day that you come to the farm. Forms of payment accepted are cash or checks made payable to Rodoni Farms.
Station s: You’ll be welcomed with a short talk for your whole group in the hay circle. Then’ll there are a few educational stations, geared toward the younger grades, set up that your class can rotate through. Please have a parent or teacher at each station when dividing into equal groups after the talk.
Facilities:
We have clean porta-potties with hand washing facilities available on the farm.
Clothing
:
Be sure to dress for the farm as well as the weather. Please encourage students to bring jackets if it is cold as all activities are outdoors. No sandals or open toed shoes.
Water
:
Teachers, please be sure to provide your students with drinking water. We sometimes have bottled water for sale but do not have water fountains.
Snacks/ Lunch:
Feel free to bring snacks (especially for younger students who are used to eating lunch early). There are a couple of hay circle areas that can be used for eating. We do ask that you pack your trash.
Safety
:
Please provide a first aid kit for your students. All activities are outdoors and there are certain risks associated with being outdoors: bee or wasp stings, hay allergies, etc. We do not administer or distribute any type of medications.
Weather
:
Please call before departing for the farm if you think the weather might be a problem.
